Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 March 2026. This policy is governed by the laws of Australia, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes how Uni Tools ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use our website and related services (the "Service"). It is intended for users in Australia.

2. Our approach to personal information

We do not collect personal information for advertising, sale, or unrelated profiling. We do not sell personal information. We process only what is reasonably necessary to operate the Service and only for the purposes described in this policy.

3. What we process and why

  • Account sign-in. Authentication may be provided by a third-party identity provider. We receive identifiers needed to recognise your account. That provider's privacy policy also applies to how they handle your sign-in data.
  • Timetable and preferences you save. If you use cloud sync or similar features, content you choose to store (for example timetable selections and related settings) is processed and stored so the Service can show and sync your timetable for you. We use this information only to provide the Service to you, not for unrelated purposes.
  • Technical and security logs. Like most online services, our infrastructure may automatically record limited technical information needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting (for example error logs). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
  • Optional product analytics. In production we may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service. We configure this to avoid collecting unnecessary personal detail where practicable.

4. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example hosting, authentication, or analytics) may store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in line with the APPs, subject to the exceptions in the Privacy Act.

5. Access, correction, and complaints

Under the APPs you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. If you have a complaint about how we handle personal information, contact us using the details we publish in the Service. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes notice of the updated policy where permitted by law.

7. Not legal advice

This policy is a plain-language summary. It does not replace legal advice. If you need advice about your specific situation, consult a qualified professional.
